Timberrrrrrrrrr! The lumberjacks are back at Mac

Some 150 male and female competitors from 25 teams will battle for supremacy on the Macdonald Campus this Saturday in McGill’s 51st Annual Intercollegiate Woodsmen Competition, part of the Canadian Lumberjack Championships.

Some 150 male and female competitors from 25 teams will battle for supremacy on the Macdonald Campus Saturday in McGill’s 51st Annual Intercollegiate Woodsmen Competition, part of the Canadian Lumberjack Championships. The event will feature 14 exciting singles, doubles and team events, including the axe throw, Swede saw, chain saw, pole climb, snowshoe race and the always exciting – seriously – water boil.

The Woodsmen Competition, which has become a popular fixture on the winter events calendar, kicks off the Macdonald Campus’s Winter Carnival. The Carnival wraps up on Sat., Feb. 5 with, among other activities, a livestock-judging competition at the Mac Farm.
