It’s been a little over a year since devastation struck in Haiti. As the country slowly rebuilds its roads and buildings, what’s the situation on the ground when it comes to access to education and human rights?

On Jan. 20, The Montreal Haiti Solidarity Committee (MHSC) and the Freire Project welcome tireless Haitian community activist Rea Dol to speak at a free public forum at McGill. Dol, whose determined focus is to improve the lives of the poorest members of her community, is the co-founder and director of SOPUDEP, a successful grassroots organization in Port-au-Prince that includes a K-12 school for more than 480 students, a micro-credit program for women and adult literacy training.
