Every spring, China’s main cities are plunged into chaos as a tidal wave of humanity attempts to return home by train. The wave is made up of millions of migrant factory workers.
On Jan. 27, the McGill Chapter of the NGO Dreamcorps together with the Asia Pacific Law Association of McGill will be screening the 2009 documentary Last Train Home and hosting a Q&A with the director afterwards. Directed by Montreal-based Lixin Fan, the film chronicles a family embarking on the annual tormenting journey along with 200 other million peasant workers to reunite with their distant family.
