In 2004, Ilona Dougherty, a trailblazing social entrepreneur, co-founded Apathy is Boring, a nonpartisan charitable organization that uses art and technology to get the message out that apathy is boring and democracy is sexy.
On April 20, Dougherty will speak at McGill about innovative ways to reach 18-35 year old Canadians and engage them in public policy. Her talk will precede an interview with Anita Nowak, a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Education at McGill University, whose work is rooted in critical pedagogy and social justice education.
