On Thursday, September 22, Provost Christopher Manfredi will launch his Task Force on Indigenous Studies and Indigenous Education, inspired by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. To mark the occasion, a special ceremony will be held at the Hochelaga Rock, whose new position of prominence on the downtown campus symbolizes the Provost’s commitment to embedding Indigeneity in the life and activities of the University.

On Friday, Sept. 18, Indigenous Awareness Week kicked off in style, with the 14th annual Pow Wow on Lower Campus. Mid-summer temperatures and a full slate of dancers, singers and musicians attracted a large crowd throughout the day.
McGill's 5th annual Indigenous Awareness Week will take place from Sept. 21 – 25 on the downtown campus. The annual Pow Wow will kick start festivities on Friday, Sept. 18, beginning at 11 a.m. on the lower field.
