The panel will examine how from health care through policies on labour and immigration to critiques of nationalism, Paul Martin Sr.’s engagement with leading Catholic scholars, such as Étienne Gilson and Jacques Maritain, as well as John Henry Newman, sheds light on surprising links between Catholic social thought and Canadian liberalism.
