Rachel Schafts has also recently joined the Staffing unit. She will be assisting in the recruitment and retention of staff. She will also be responsible for organizing the Quarter Century Club event, Orientation Week, the Principal’s awards for administrative and support staff and a number of other HR activities and events. Rachel has a master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois, coupled with seven years of HR and recruitment experience.
Rachel replaces Audrey Lew who is now working at the faculty of Medicine where she is responsible for the development of educational and research programs. She will also manage communication and fundraising strategies for both units.
Also joining Human Resources is Kathy-Ann Sendecki as HR Advisor in the School of Continuing Studies. She provides counsel and guidance to SCS unit members on organizational effectiveness and culture change initiatives. She will implement effective performance management, succession planning, compensation and training. Kathy-Ann has a degree in HR Management from Concordia University and has five years of HR experience. She is also certified as an HR professional by the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés since 2003.
