The parties are scheduled to start discussions in arbitration on September 4.

The length of time it has taken (and is still taking) to reach a suitable collective agreement with the university is shameful. Despite its boast of being a model employer, McGill is the only university in the province of Québec that does not have a union for its course lecturers and instructors. Let us hope that this fall, true progress will finally be made and such a union will be ratified.
