McGill wins seven CASE Circle of Excellence Awards

Awards celebrate exemplary work in educational advancement

McGill received numerous accolades from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s annual awards competition that showcases stellar work in educational advancement by institutions around the world.

McGill University Advancement received seven awards from the 2022 CASE Circle of Excellence Awards: two gold, three silver, one bronze – and one grand gold in the Leadership | Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives category. The grand gold was for an initiative that saw the launch of the McGill Black Mentorship Program and the McGill Women’s Mentorship Program in 2021.

The pandemic may have scuttled the University’s original plans for celebrating its 200th anniversary, but the “highly engaging” McGill Bicentennial At-Home Homecoming 2021 found favour with the competition judges and won gold recognition. “The judges were particularly impressed by the numbers engaged – nearly 6,000 unique registrants.”

McGill University Advancement’s 200 for 200 Legacy Challenge continues to earn accolades, winning a gold in the Fundraising | Targeted Campaigns & Appeals category. “This campaign featured a great strategy and thus, great results,” the judges noted of McGill’s first-ever fundraising campaign dedicated to planned giving.

The awards also recognized an inventive virtual event on McGill24, the University’s annual day of giving, that tapped into the enduring affection for Montreal bagels. The McGill Virtual Job Shadow Program, The McGill Alumni Association Global Volunteer Program, and a “Direct Mail Format Testing” also earned recognition.
