Sign up for direct deposit, a fast and efficient method of having your health and dental claims automatically paid to your bank account; receive an email alert when your claims have been reviewed; and, check the status of recently submitted claims.

If you have not already taken advantage of these on-line services, you are encouraged to do so by registering on Manulife’s plan member secure website .

This is a two-step process:

STEP 1: Register for Manulife Plan Member Secure Site

  1. Go to www.manulife.ca/groupbenefits.
  2. Select “Plan Member”
  3. Select “Login/register” in the green bar in the top left corner of the screen.
  4. Enter your plan contract number (85210) and click on Continue.
  5. Select “Register” from the menu on the left.
  6. Provide information requested on the next screens.

You will see a message about an activation key. You will need this key to activate your personal account on Manulife’s Plan Member Secure Site. Manulife will send a letter to your home address within three to five business days with your personal site activation key; this will give you access to the entire Secure Site. In the event of an interruption in postal service, call the Manulife Customer Service Centre at 1-800-268-6195.

STEP 2: Once you receive your activation key, register for Direct Deposit

  1. Go to www.manulife.ca/groupbenefits
  2. Select “Plan Member”
  3. Select “Login/register” in the green bar in the top left corner of the screen.

    For the next steps, you will need your plan contract number (85210) and your plan member certificate number (your McGill ID number):

  4. Enter your plan contract number.
  5. Confirm your plan contract number.
  6. Enter your plan member certificate number (your McGill ID number).
  7. Enter your password. (You created this when you registered for the plan member secure site.)
  8. Select “direct deposit for claims” under “My services” in the left menu.
  9. Provide information requested on the next screens.

Receive your claim statements online

Receive an e-mail notifying you when your claim has been processed.

  • Activate this feature by choosing Receive electronic statements from the menu
  • You need to sign up for direct deposit first
  • Ensure your e-mail address is up to date
