McGill Athletics and Recreation has launched a new website, www.mcgillathletics.ca. The site, which replaces www.mcgill.ca/athletics, was designed by Sidearm Sports, a Syracuse, New-York-based company that specializes in university varsity sports websites.
The old site will be discontinued shortly.
The new site offers a fresh look and a host of new features including improved social media integration, varsity sports scheduling, rosters and athlete bios and horizontal navigation with drop down menus that makes getting around the site easier.
The new look features larger photos, quicker access to social media sites and a home page that features a presence for Recreation programs. Visitors will also notice a more prominent calendar of upcoming varsity games with links to live stats and web streaming, a carrousel of images announcing special events and features, athletes of the week and links to some of the more popular pages.
The site also includes a mobile version for easy access to information on smart phones.
Over the next few weeks and months, Athletics and Recreation will be updating its Hall of Fame pages and fine tuning its historical database of stories, varsity rosters and schedules and getting ready to set up the Sports Shop to accept on-line payments.
