McGill University was recently named a regional winner in the competition for Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2011.  McGill was a Special Category Regional Award winner for the broader public sector, placing in the top five in the Quebec and Atlantic Canada region.

The award, managed by Waterstone Human Capital, recognizes the importance of great workplaces, where culture has helped enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage. Winning organizations were measured on criteria such as vision and leadership, cultural alignment and corporate social responsibility.

Submissions were reviewed by a 24-member board of governors, consisting of top executives from many leading organizations from across Canada. They reviewed 440 submissions and chose 10 winners in three different regions.  The ten nominees were also interviewed by Waterstone’s senior administration. Waterstone Human Capital is an executive search firm specializing in recruiting and cultural assessment.
