On May 6, 2014, McGill’s floor fellows received certification from the Commission des relations du travail (CRT) to become a bargaining unit of AMUSE (Association of McGill University Support Employees). Floor fellows are McGill students who have experienced living in a university residence and who provide live-in support for first year students in McGill’s residences.

They are the second bargaining unit to join AMUSE, which is affiliated with PSAC (Public Service Alliance of Canada). This new union will have about 75 members. Both parties are now preparing for the first contract negotiations which should start next fall. This brings the total to 14 unions at McGill.
