Special Edition: The Food Issue

Please, sir, may I have more?

What if there is no more? What if, through the effects of climate change, our use of plants for fuel, our ravenous appetite for more and more meat, our commodities markets that drive prices higher than they need be, we run out of food?

What about food safety? There’s melamine in milk in China, listeria bacteria in Canadian cold cuts and countless e.coli and salmonella outbreaks in meat and produce worldwide.

What if we eat too much? What if we don’t eat enough? Eating disorders and dietary problems affect millions of people.

In this special issue of the McGill Reporter, we examine food issues at length – and how McGill is involved in helping solve problems around the world.
