On behalf of the McGill University community, I wish to express our deep sorrow and shock at news of the terrible events of early Tuesday morning, when five young lives were brutally lost. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of those who were killed in a senseless act of violence. And we join the University of Calgary in mourning this loss that will touch its community so profoundly. To President Elizabeth Cannon, I convey our sympathy and support in this most difficult hour.
