Dr. Stephen Elledge, 2013 Canada Gairdner International Laureate of Harvard Medical School, will deliver his lecture, “Genetic approaches to cancer,” as part of the 2013 Gairdner National Program. Dr. Elledge is recognized for elucidation of the DNA damage response as a signaling network that controls DNA repair and genomic stability with profound implications for cancer and other diseases. Dr. Gary Ruvkun, 2008 Canada Gairdner International Laureate of Harvard Medical School, will also deliver a lecture, “Eukaryotic Pathways that surveys conserved proteins for inhibition by microbial toxins & couple to defense.”
