Open House is like a crash course on everything McGill. On Sunday, October 21, an expected 7,000 people will be given the grand tour,or tours, of the University. As an added bonus, people who register early are eligible for door prizes.
People are invited to start their tour at one of the many Welcome Tents on campus. Seven hundred volunteers, including undergraduate and graduate students, administrative staff and faculty will welcome visitors throughout the day. McGill will showcase its faculties, professional schools and more than 300 programs, taught by internationally renowned professors, against the backdrop of autumn colours across campus.

Members of the Students Society of McGill University, the University’s student council, will be on hand to give a student’s eye view with presentations about life outside the classroom, services and clubs for students. CKUT, McGill’s campus and community radio station, will be broadcasting live on site over a PA system.
This year, there will be wifi access across campus for all guests, courtesy of McGill’s IT services.
McGill offers an open and multicultural learning environment, with exchanges, internships, field studies and research opportunities. It was just selected by the Maclean’s Magazine rankings as the top medical-doctoral university in Canada for the 14th year in a row.

McGill’s downtown campus is a mosaic of historic and modern buildings — founded almost 200 years ago and located in the heart of bilingual downtown Montreal.
The Macdonald Campus, in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, is home to the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition, and the McGill School of Environment.
Macdonald campus wills not open for visitors during Open House, but representatives from the Mac Campus will be on-hand at the Welcome Centre (3415 McTavish Street) to answer questions about Macdonald campus programs, residences and student services.
Approximately one-in-five McGill students is francophone, and about half of those who visit during Open House are Quebecois. McGill offers services for francophone students, including the opportunity to write exams and submit assignments in French.
Open House will be held on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Open House Activity Guide offers a huge range of activities to answer students and parents questions. Prospective students are invited to sign up for program and admissions updates, by going to McGill in Mind.
