On October 27, the 43rd Quarter Century Club (QCC) welcomed 128 new members to its roster, which now includes 2,478 members. About four hundred returning members of the QCC along with new inductees attended the event with their family and friends.
Working as volunteers, the Human Resources team welcomed guests with Audrey Lew, Advisor, Human Resources, Staffing and Communications, orchestrating the event.
Addressing the audience, Lynne B. Gervais, Associate Vice-Principal, said “You have played a significant role in upholding McGill’s reputation as a world-class institution and we thank you wholeheartedly for your efforts.”
Principal Heather Munroe-Blum was also on hand to pay tribute to new and returning QCC members. “We are so proud to recognize the many tremendous contributions of the 128 inductees we are celebrating this evening,” she said. “As dedicated and long-standing members of the McGill community, you have played a crucial role in shaping the spirit and accomplishments of our University.”
For H. Arnold Steinberg, Chancellor of McGill, this was his first time addressing the QCC gathering. “As McGill’s 18th Chancellor, I am honored to serve a University that continuously brings positive change to the community, indeed to the world. I am certain you share that same feeling,” he said. “Your colleagues, peers, family and friends have every reason to applaud your outstanding achievements throughout your 25 years at McGill.”
