McGill has been named one of “Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2012,” marking the fourth consecutive year that it has been included in this select group.

Separately, the University also has been named a regional winner in the “Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2011” program, which recognizes best-in-class Canadian organizations for having a culture that has helped them enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage.

The Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, now in its 13th year, is a national competition to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.

The competition focuses on eight key areas: physical workplace; work and social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

McGill was named a Special Category Regional Award winner for the Broader Public Sector (Top Five) in Quebec and Atlantic Canada by Waterstone Human Capital, the executive search firm that founded the Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures program.

“We are gratified to be included once again in the list of leading Canadian employers, and to be recognized for the quality of our institutional culture,” said Michael Di Grappa, the University’s Vice-Principal (Administration and Finance).

Lynne B. Gervais, Associate Vice-Principal, Human Resources, added that “McGill strives to help its employees develop their skills while achieving a healthy balance in their work and personal lives. Those efforts are reflected in these and other surveys.”
