Martin Kreiswirth, Associate Provost (Graduate Education) and Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, sent a message to the GPS community Wednesday, delivering the sad news that Charlotte Légaré, Director of Graduate Studies for 20 years at McGill, had lost her battle with cancer. Here is his message:
“I am deeply saddened to announce that our dear friend and colleague, Charlotte Légaré, passed away on Monday after a long struggle with cancer. Charlotte worked at McGill for 30 years. For over 20 years she was Director of Graduate Studies, but more than that, Charlotte was the heart of GPS. She will be greatly missed.
“Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 4, 2013 at Urgel Bourgie funeral complex, 1255 Beaumont, Mont-Royal. The funeral service will take place on that same day at 1:00PMin the Chapel at 1255 Beaumont, Mont Royal.
“You may wish to read the obituary, published today in The Gazette. If you would like to sign the guest book, you may do so here. I know you will join me in offering her family our sincerest condolences during this sad time.
“In honour of Charlotte, McGill will be lowering the flag to half-mast later this week.”
