As this year’s Centraide campaign gets underway, McGillians are being called upon to continue their tradition of generosity and solidarity with the broader community.

McGill aims to raise $425,000 in the campaign, officially launched today, Nov. 5. Donations are used to support 375 local agencies and projects addressing poverty and exclusion.

“McGill is proud to renew its commitment as a partner of Centraide,” said President Deep Saini. “Once again, McGillians’ great sense of community engagement will work towards making a difference for those in need in Montreal.”

This year’s campaign co-chairs are Christopher Manfredi, Provost and Executive Vice-President (Academic), and Viviane Yargeau, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

“As a long-time contributor to McGill’s Centraide campaign, it is an honour to be able to share my experience in supporting this tremendous cause with members of the community,” said Manfredi. “I hope that all members of the McGill community will join me in once again expressing McGill’s commitment to the community in which we live.”

“Being part of the Centraide campaign has shown me the incredible commitment of our community to making a real difference,” said Yargeau. “Together, we have the power to uplift those in need and continue McGill’s proud tradition of generosity and solidarity.”

McGill will also host fundraising events. Last year’s activities included bake sales, 50/50 draws and silent auctions.
