Are you overweight or obese? Do you know someone who would like to lose weight? If so, you, or the person you know, may be eligible for the McGill CHIP Healthy Weight Program.
The program is offering group sessions for individuals between the ages of 18 and 75 who are overweight or obese and exercise less than 200 minutes/week. The program is free of charge.
Participants will meet weekly over three months with a trained lifestyle coach and receive guidance and support to improve their eating and exercise habits. Follow-up sessions to help maintain the weight loss are offered subsequently. Sessions are offered at different times and days of the week in both English and French, and will be held at the YMHA located in Snowdon (métro Côte-Sainte-Catherine) or on McGill’s downtown campus.
This program is a research initiative led by Dr. Bärbel Knäuper of the McGill Psychology Department and the Comprehensive Health Improvement Program (CHIP) with funding from the Canadian Institute of Health Research.
