March 18: Gardening workshop: How does your garden grow?

Are you eager to grow a garden but intimidated by the thought of growing vegetables from seed? This hands-on, noon-hour workshop on March 18, organized by the Greening Indoor McGill Initiative (GIMI) and sponsored by McGill’s Sustainability Project Fund, is designed for beginners. McGill Plant Science MSc student Christie Lovat will teach you the ins-and-outs of starting vegetables from seed, in order to get garden-center quality plants by May. Participants will come away with helpful veggie-knowledge, advice, and a six-pack tray of biodegradable pots, soil and an heirloom seed packet each of standard tomato, cherry tomato, melon, snap bean, and carrots.
