According to data for 2013 provided by Porter Airlines – 86 per cent of McGill travelers are booking directly online with Porter Airlines rather than going through the McGill contract and potentially benefiting from the negotiated discounts. Porter offers McGill discounts on all destinations and fare types (excluding the deeply discounted fares).
Often the transaction fee of the Travel Management Company exceeded the discount accorded by Porter. To combat this effect, it is now possible to book online through VisionLink. This online booking tool allows access to the contracted rates of Porter Airlines (and other carriers) for a minimal ticketing fee of $15.00.
