McGill has created a website to help people keep up to speed with the massive City of Montreal water main reconstruction project that will take place between now and next August around the McTavish reservoir.
The project will involve road closures, changes in traffic direction on some streets, as well as the usual noise and mess that accompany such enormous infrastructure upgrades. To be rolled out in three Phases, the work will involve the replacement of some key water mains, some of which are more than 100 years old.
The new McGill website, which will be updated as new information becomes available, includes links to the City of Montreal page and the STM’s website, which can provide information on how bus routes may be affected over the course of the work. The city’s site is in French only, but some web browsers can provide rudimentary translation for those who don’t read French fluently.
There’s also a section of Frequently Asked Questions with answers and an email address to which other questions, not covered in the FAQs, can be asked. Answers will be added to the website.
