Anthony Maher, a first-year McGill law student, remains in critical condition at the Montreal General Hospital after being struck by a car on his way home from school Nov. 12. Maher has undergone several intensive surgeries and has more to come. Although he has already overcome many obstacles, Maher still has a very long road ahead of him. He will remain in the hospital for quite sometime and will be recovering and undergoing rehabilitation for between six months to one year. Members of Maher’s family have taken time off work and relocated to Montreal for the next year to give support to their son through this very challenging time.

A Facebook page has been set up to promote a fundraising event that will help the Maher family offset the many unexpected costs such as transportation, food and living as well as costs associated with specialized medical needs their son will need in the upcoming months.
