6 a.m. Tuesday

Cleanup crews have worked all night, but there are additional building closures this morning as water continues to flow onto the downtown campus from the leak at the McTavish Reservoir.

Wilson Hall and the Birks Building are closed and classes in those buildings are cancelled this morning. A decision about afternoon classes normally held in those buildings will be made later in the day, once we know if they can be relocated. Students and staff will be notified as soon as possible.

As reported last night, classes are being relocated from the Wong Building (see here for new locations) and students and staff have been notified by email. Physics labs are cancelled in Wong today.

Service Point, the Welcome Centre and the James Administration Building are also closed.

The north entrance to the McConnell Engineering Building is closed, except for emergencies. Classes will continue in McConnell.

Please avoid the Milton Gate. This area, at Milton and University Sts. continues to be flooded. Please access the lower campus from the Roddick Gates on Sherbrooke St.

If you come north McTavish St. from Sherbrooke, you will have to access the campus through the terrace at the library complex. McTavish Gate and the upper part of the street is closed until the City of Montreal can assess damage to the underlying street structure. The Brown Building and the Student Centre are open, but access is more complicated because of this situation.

Service Point and the Welcome Centre are closed today.

Elevators may not be working in your building because of the flooding.

We again urge you to be cautious in making your way around, both on and off campus, because of slippery conditions.

Please check this site for updates throughout the day.
