Flag to be lowered in memory of victims of l'Isle-Verte fire

The McGill community offers its deepest sympathy to the townspeople of l'Isle-Verte who have been devastated by last week's tragic fire in a senior citizens' residence. The University's flag will be lowered to half-staff next Friday through Sunday, Jan. 31 to Feb. 1, out of respect for those who perished, as well as their loved ones.

The McGill community offers its deepest sympathy to the townspeople of l’Isle-Verte who have been devastated by last week’s tragic fire in a senior citizens’ residence. The University’s flag will be lowered to half-staff Friday through Sunday, Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, out of respect for those who perished, as well as their loved ones. A large, televised commemorative ceremony is being planned for next Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.

Drapeau en berne

La communauté de l’université McGill offre ses plus sincères  sympathies à la population durement éprouvée de l’Isle-Verte. Le drapeau de l’Université sera mis en berne en signe de deuil et de respect pour les familles des victimes le vendredi, 31 janvier jusqu’au dimanche 2 février. En lien avec la cérémonie commémorative, qui aura lieu à l’Isle Verte samedi 11 h.
