McGill Overdrive

http://mcgill.lib.overdrive.com

This slick new online service is now available to anyone with McGill library privileges.  Overdrive allows you to check out a growing selection of digitial ebooks, audiobooks, songs and videos, which you can read or play on your own computer, ebook reader, iPod or MP3 player. To use the service, log in to the website above and create an account. After that, you’ll need to download the Overdrive Media Console to your computer to play audio and video files and transfer them to CD or portable devices. You’ll also need the Adobe Digital Edition ebook reader to read ebooks. Overdrive functions like a regular library, where you check out a specific title for a set period of time. Once your loan period expires, the file simply disappears from your device and it becomes available for loan to other users again.

Health & Wellness

This long-established website has been updated and transformed into McGill’s central web resource about pandemic H1N1 flu. It features an H1N1 FAQ by Dr. T., McGill’s own Dr. Pierre-Paul Tellier, head of Student Health Services, plus information on how to avoid getting infected, how to tell if you are infected and what to do then. It provides helpful tips on handwashing and hand sanitizer use, resources for managers, department heads and faculty members, and links to reliable H1N1 information from across the Internet. It will updated on a regular basis, so be sure to check back from time to time for the latest news and developments!
