Feb. 6: Irwin Cotler to deliver 2013 Cassin Lecture

On Wednesday, Feb. 6, the Honourable Irwin Cotler will deliver the annual Cassin lecture: Genocide Convention and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: What Have We Learned? What Must We Do? Cotler is presently a Canadian Member of Parliament and served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada from December 2003 to January 2006. He is currently serving as Special Counsel on Human Rights & International Justice, is a member of the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on International Human Rights, and Co-Chair of the Canadian Helsinki Watch Group. Cotler has defended political prisoners around the world. The event takes place from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Moot Court, Faculty of Law (3644 Peel St). Please RSVP to chrlp.law@mcgill.ca
