On Feb. 22, McGill will celebrate its 12th annual Bassoon Day by welcoming this year’s special guest, Ole Kristian Dahl of the WDR Symphony Orchestra in Cologne, Germany.
Bassoon Day events will include exhibits of instruments and accessories by Canadian bassoon maker Benson H. Bell and Montreal woodwind specialist Pascal Véraquin; master classes by special guest Ole Kristian Dahl as well as Mathieu Harel of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal; and a bassoon concert featuring Ole Kristian Dahl and friends from the OSM. As well, organizers hope to assemble more than 40 bassoonists on stage for the annual Bassoon Ensemble Finale – so make sure to pack your trusty bassoon! A detailed schedule is available here.
