Ronald Chwang a apporté une contribution significative à l’industrie mondiale des semi-conducteurs, des ordinateurs et de l’électronique. Entre 1986 et 1997, il a occupé différents postes de responsabilité chez Acer. Entre 1992 et 1997, il a été président et directeur de l’exploitation d’Acer America Corporation. Avant de rejoindre Acer, il avait exercé diverses fonctions dans le domaine du développement et de la gestion chez Intel dans l’Oregon et auprès de Bell Northern Research à Ottawa. À titre de président du conseil et président d’iD Ventures America, il s’occupe des investissements de capital‑risque dans les nouvelles entreprises de technologies. Au nombre de ses succès figurent de nombreux produits bien connus du public comme le robot aspirateur Roomba d’iRobot; Guitar Hero et Rock Band.

Dr. Ronald Chwang has contributed significantly to semiconductor, computer and electronics industries worldwide. From 1986 to 1997, Dr. Chwang was with various Acer entities serving in executive positions. Between 1992 and 1997, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer at Acer America Corporation. Before joining Acer, he worked in development and management positions at Intel in Oregon and Bell Northern Research in Ottawa. As Chairman and President of iD Ventures America, Dr. Chwang manages venture capital investments in technology start-ups. His successes include many products that we are familiar with today such as “Roomba,” the robotic floor cleaner by iRobot; and “Guitar Hero” and “Rock Band.”
