Four outstanding Quebec and Canadian business leaders – from the fields of finance, entertainment and sports — were honoured for their success and contributions to the community at a Feb. 13 luncheon organized by students of the Desautels Faculty of Management.

The four recipients of the Faculty’s 2009 Management Achievement Awards, chosen for their leadership, entrepreneurship, ethics and corporate social responsibility, are:

•    René Angelil, President, Les Productions Feeling Inc. – and husband and manager of superstar singer Céline Dion;

•    Larry Smith, President and CEO, Montreal Alouettes;

•    Monique Leroux, President, CEO and Chair of the Board, Desjardins Group;

•    Luc Bertrand, President and CEO, Montreal Exchange.

The Feb. 13 luncheon, held at Le Windsor in downtown Montreal, marked the 29th annual edition of the Awards, which were established to honour Canadian business leaders who have made a significant and valuable contribution to the Canadian economy and way of life, through their success in business and their involvement in the community.  The recipients have inspired young Canadians to learn more about business and to develop their own talents as leaders and entrepreneurs.
