Full house for launch of Black History Month

On February 1 in the Thomson House ballroom, more than 120 people attended the opening event of Black History Month organized by the Social Equity and Diversity Education (SEDE) Office. 2017 marks the 10th anniversary of official Black History Month celebrations in Quebec, and McGill's first full month of BHM programming.

McGillians honoured during Black History Month

A recent McGill Law graduate and a current Masters student in the Faculty of Law have been named Black History Month Laureates by the Quebec organizers of the annual event. Tamara Thermitus, who is pursuing an LLM, and Anthony Morgan, who graduated last December, have been honoured along with 10 other laureates for their contributions to the life and culture of Quebec’s Black community.
