McGill students, alumni, faculty and staff are invited to participate in focus groups that will help shape the future of the University’s brand and narrative.

These sessions will provide a space to share perspectives, experiences and ideas about what makes McGill unique – and how we can better communicate that to the world.

“As McGill embarks on its third century, in a local and global context that is rapidly evolving, it important that we tell our story with clarity and conviction,” said Deep Saini, McGill President. “This process will help us articulate a narrative that honours McGill’s history of excellence, reflects our priorities, and inspires all members of our community to shape McGill’s future together.”

Following a competitive selection process, McGill has partnered with Cossette Communications to lead a comprehensive update of its brand strategy and narrative.

Safia Généreux-Khali, Executive Director, Marketing and Branding, explained that the aim is to ensure that McGill’s marketing and communications efforts consistently reflect and reinforce the University’s core strengths, values and aspirations – making McGill recognizable, relevant and distinctive in an increasingly competitive and dynamic higher education environment.

“McGill’s brand is more than a logo or tagline – it’s the story we tell about who we are, what we stand for and where we’re going,” said Généreux-Khali. “This refresh is not just timely – it’s essential to ensure McGill continues to connect meaningfully with audiences across Quebec, across Canada and around the world.”
